Hercules & Love Affair

Andy Butler, aka Hercules & Love Affair, has been selecting and mixing music for over 20 years, applying an impeccable filter and a playful eclecticism—evident in his NTS radio residency. Just as comfortable playing driving techno and house as he is dropping an epic disco tune, he moves fluidly between genres with a distinctive touch. His roots in nightlife trace back to the ’90s American underground, and he has since become a regular at iconic venues like Berlin’s Panorama Bar, the NYC Downlow, and London’s Fabric.

Butler is perhaps best known for the evergreen disco anthem Blind, famously remixed by house music pioneer Frankie Knuckles. His original productions have repeatedly served as the soundtrack for runway shows by Chanel, Dior, Versace, Cartier, Yves Saint Laurent, and more. He has also provided DJ sets for events spanning the art and fashion worlds, including MOMA, the Yerba Buena Arts Center in San Francisco, and the Art Gallery of Ontario.
