Jasper James

A product of Glasgow’s distinctively “up-for-it” and freewheeling party scene, Jasper James has underground dance music culture in his DNA. Now firmly established and respected globally for his craft, the DJ and producer continues to build on his origins, traversing dance music culture on his own terms.

After breaking through in his home city, Jasper James first rose to wider prominence as one of the first resident DJs at now legendary London club Phonox. Today, he’s known worldwide, not only for the quality of his club sets – which draw on a renowned knowledge of house and techno jams old and new, as well as razor-sharp technical skills and famed ability to read a dancefloor – but also for his versatility, adaptability and spontaneity. All traits which can be traced through his approach to dancefloors and spaces of different sizes, be it intimate basements, festival fields or top-tier clubs and events such as Fabric, Circoloco and the Warehouse Project.

Since making his debut on hometown imprint Optimo Trax, Jasper has remixed Chicago house hero Romanthony and released must-check singles on labels including ESP Institute, NO ART and, mostly recently, a multi-part EP series on Chiwax.
