In 1990, the Chicago DJ and producer Ron Trent rose to international prominence with his cult classic ‘Altered States’. Afterwards, he relocated to New York, where he fused house, jazz-funk, neo-soul, and global rhythms into his signature spiritual house sound while holding residencies at Body & Soul, Shelter, and Giant Step’s Shine. Thirty-six years and countless releases and tours later, he’s still the blueprint.
