Waajeed

Asseem Waajeed (Robert O’ Bryant IV) is a Detroiter, musician, and educator. Raised in Conant Gardens on Detroit's east side, at nineteen Waajeed was offered a scholarship to the College for Creative Studies for visual arts.
In 2000, along with Saadiq (Darnell Bolden), he formed the Platinum Pied Pipers. Together, they produced compilation albums with Georgia Anne Muldrow, Tiombe Lockhart and Dwele.
In 2002 he founded the label Bling47 to amplify the music of his community. Through this, Waajeed was the first to sign J Dilla and also released his own solo project, B.P.M., melding both Techno and hip hop sensibilities.
